Hello there! If you have been to our Instagram (twilightstudiosg), you will see that we have many many many photos of different colors. Color that you might not have heard of before. Pink Mulberry, heard of it? How about Raspberry Red? Or Rosewood? Or maybe a special grey tone - Cloudy Grey?
If you haven’t, you have come to the right place. These are very beautiful hair colors. Let’s start the ball rolling~
To give a brief introduction, the reason why we can create all these colors is that we mix our own colors. To put it simply, what do you get when you mix red and blue? Purple, right? Now, add in 20% ash pigment, we have Ash Purple now.
This presents multiple possibilities of colors that we can imagine but it takes a lot of experience and hard work behind it. Don’t try this at home! Haha. And the red carpet rolls for the first star, Rosewood.
Rosewood
Rosewood is a beautiful love child between Pink and Brown. For those who enjoy having a natural brown with some pink elements, this is a sophisticated color to go for. In comparison with Rose Brown, this would lean towards a dark magenta shade instead of a lighter reddish-brown for Rose Brown. In terms of skin color, this might be more suitable for ladies with slightly lighter skin.
Turquoise
For ladies who love to have a little bit more green and blue in their life, Turquoise is the color to go! From Cyan family color, it represents both the calm from the blue and the earth grounding from the green. Other than blue and green, we added a little bit of yellow to dilute some of the blue so that overall it retains a beautiful greenish shade but we can still see a comforting amount of bluish tone.
Raspberry Red
Red is one of the most interesting colors in terms of customizing or enhancement. When we mix a little pink pigment, it becomes a raspberry red. This retains most of the red but you can see a tinge of pink in it. However, if we were to mix in more pink, it could become a rose red instead, this means, most of it is pink but you can see a tinge of red. And in almost equal proportion, blue and red give you purple. In conclusion, being a hairstylist is like being a scientist, playing with colors and chemicals. 😂
Sandy Brown
For asian ladies with warmer skin tones like yellow or brown, the Sandy Brown color would be a very compatible color with the skin as this is a combination of both yellow and brown. Like the color sand, this is a sunny but comfortable color. Some colors can be a little too hard on the eyes, say, a bright yellow, but the Sandy Brown has been toned down to suit our asian skin color.
Cotton White
To achieve a total white, it would mean we will have to remove all our natural dark pigments through numerous rounds of bleaching. The Cotton White would be one of the closest color that we can get that is both a nice and modern color. A solid white might be a little intimidating and out of place so to make it more eye-pleasing, it is toned to be a little more pastel white-beige color. Beautiful!
Pink Mulberry
The Pink Mulberry is a strong shade of magenta-pink that is formed by combining red and purple pigments. Originally a technical purple shade, we mix in a little more reddish-pink to it to create a more feminine mysterious feel. Coloring mixing is a very delicate process where you have to understand deeply what you are trying to create beforehand. It's fun!
Platinum Brown
You have heard of platinum blonde, how about platinum brown? Platinum is a greyish-white silver shade, it's the lightest blonde shade before it reaches white. The platinum brown has the same concept too, how light can brown be? This is the perfect example of a very very light brown with greyish-white elements.
Purple Plum
Purple by itself is a secondary color mixed with 2 equal primary colors - red and blue. To alter the shade of purple, different pigment has to be added or to adjust the proportion of it. For this purple plum, we added a heavier shade of red to turn it toward a reddish purple. Not only it enhances the vibrancy, but it also made it more likable as well.
Rose Pink
Blackpink in your area~ Pink is one of the top few colors that are very compatible with our asian black hair. There are many variations of Pink but rose pink is something that checks a lot of boxes, it's very pastel-ish, the soft powdery whitish-pink is comfortable to look at and the contrast is on point. Alternatively, if you prefer a more reddish pink, we can mix in more red pigment in it and make it rose red instead. That's the flexibility you get when you mix your own colors. Haha.
Ocean Blue
If you take a serious look at all the colors, blue is one of the top colors that brings you calm and peace. Comparing this to red, we think of action and passion when we think of red. But this Ocean Blue exudes a very comforting presence, like the calm ocean, you watch as things come and go. In this world of unlimited possibilities, you can choose what kind of mood you want by wearing the desired color or having such colored hair. Be like the calm and comforting ocean~
Deep Cyan
While red is the ultimate warm color, on the opposite of the spectrum, that makes Cyan the ultimate cold (cool) color. With such color on the extreme scale, we have to be more delicate when we're deciding the proportion of the blues and greens. To maintain a deep, comfortable oceanic effect, just a little bit of green is added to dilute the darker blue, which makes it a lot more acceptable and comfortable to look at.
Sunset Brown
While darker color usually has yellowish tints, we can make use of these additional yellowish tones to create a beautiful shade of brown - Sunset Brown. We can see a little orangy element too. This is similar to a Golden Brown but more towards a slightly darker but more modern and tropical shade. Too much yellow will make it very dull but if you can alter it according to how much you need, you can create magic~
Flamingo Pink
Flamingo Pink stems from the root of Crimson Pastel, which is a deep red color but as the lightness gets adjusted, it gives us a medium light pastel pink with a little bit of red and orange tones. Although pink is considered a feminine color, with increased reddish tones, it shows the powerful aspect of the color. Feminine yet Powerful, the best of both worlds. Going any lighter from here will have some sort of Pink Blonde color, looks interesting!
And... we have reached the end of this article. Now you can boast to your friends that you know a place that can do very special colors like Pink Mulberry or Sunset Brown. Share it with your friends if they need ideas for their next hair color. They will love you for doing this! Haha.
